Is it time for a cream cake yet?
I am going out of my tiny mind....!!
I am sat at my desk looking at an enormous pile of assignments to mark and the postman brought me another box load this morning
Meanwhile the rest of the clan are off down at the Royal Welsh, they just phoned to say its been raining all day but strangely I don't feel too sorry
for them
So far today I have marked only 4 assignments so I could be here
until the small hours at this rate as I have set myself a quota for each day, but I did take precautions and have 2 very large cream cakes in the
fridge.... is it acceptable, given the circumstances, to eat both cakes and then wash them down with a large glass of red wine or do we think this may
damage my ability to assess anything or would it just be way to

Sorry another vote for quota first, cakes & wine far more enjoyable afterwards?? Or as its your first day perhaps just easing yourself in gently
is the way to go?
   & good luck

I would stagger the cream cakes between the assignments and then when you've done your quota go for the wine

You will be able to enjoy them so much more if you have them afterwards.

Generally speaking I have never got past that developmental stage when I could defer gratification.
Hope you got lots done, the Royal Welsh is being televised on chanel 507, can't understand a word but its quite fun to watch.

Yeap.....Think that just about summarises how I feel.... still here marking assignments.... one cream cake gone though and other one's days are
looking numbered
Yesterday's quota completed at silly o'clock this morning.... have unpacked new box of marking and have a massive mountain of work to do
Seriously running out of inventive and genuine coments to make.... suppose I can't just write.... "for goodness sake, what were you thinking?", very
tempting though!
Anyway break over and back to it.... I'm sure my desk is under here somewhere!

Helen I think I have the answer to your problems. Eat your cake and drink your wine over a nice little bonfire in the back garden. No need to feel guilty tell them they all passed with flying colours.

You don't need to write something different on each one - who compares their crit's with their mates anyway??
Have a bottle of red - then you can write what you like and probably won't notice how late it gets!

Hope you survived ... Cress makes a good point. I am in the same place today - and have several more coming in through the month but mine don't come
by the box full, thank goodness.

I am marking PG Certificate in Cinical Education case studies and essays and Masters in Clinical Education and Lifelong Learning essays and
dissertations. Am here now as a distraction from it I read them and
do marginal notes and notes for myself in long hand and then type up their feedback forms - the worst bit for me - so I reward / coerce myself with
visits here!
